Hello there!
I'm Sarah.
Do you ever walk into a store, try on a multitude of pants and shirts, and leave without buying anything because nothing fit you?
Yeah, me too.
That’s why I started sewing.
I’m guessing you run into a recurring fit problem when you try on clothes. The length is always too long or too short? The bum is always too small or too big?
My recurring problem is pants are too tight in the bum and thighs and too loose in the waist. It makes me feel like I’m wearing a funnel. It’s unflattering and uncomfortable. It happens with almost every pair of pants I try on. (Yes, I have a big bum.)
After years of this, I started to internalize an idea that my body proportions must not be correct or beautiful. That went on for a number of years throughout high school. But then I started getting serious about sewing and things changed. Sewing can make you realize…
If clothes don’t fit you correctly
it’s not your body’s fault
it’s the clothing’s fault
If you’re struggling with self image or frustrated with trying to find clothes that fit in a way that highlights the beauty and uniqueness of your body, I want to help you learn how to sew.
I’m here to serve as your resource for fun sewing patterns, cool sewing inspiration, how-to tutorials to help you learn, blurry adventures with my camera, and I hope more than anything, encouragement for all of your sewing endeavors.

Always cheering for you,

PS - I grew up as the youngest of seven wonderful siblings on a sheep farm surrounded by rolling hills and wide spaces. A few years ago I bought a 100 year old brick house and renovated it. Now it’s full of paintings and furniture pieces I’ve collected, blue kitchen cabinets, some dark green walls downstairs, and pink walls upstairs. In the summer you can find me cooling off in the cement basement because there is no AC. In the winter you can find me under a blanket with two sweaters and hot tea because all the old windows are leaky. I love it! I also love sewing, designing patterns, playing with my camera, riding my bicycles, swimming in ponds and rivers, climbing cliffs, drinking whole milk, and hosting memorable dinner parties.Currently working on: finding a hot and adventurous husband to have some children with and redecorating my sewing room.
The Chamomile Crop is designed to be a staple basic in your wardrobe — something to be dressed up or down, to serve as a base for layering on cool days, and worn sleeveless on warm days.
The crop version is fully French seamed and uses a wide, double rolled hem for a high quality tank top that feels beautiful next to your skin, thrives in normal wash machine cycles, and lasts for years.
The dress version has large, in seam pockets, flows in the wind, and has a beautiful 1” hem.
The crop pairs well with all your high waisted pants, skirts, and shorts and gives it a playful feel. The silhouette is thoughtfully designed to not flare at the waist but to hang straight down in a slim profile from your bust.
The Chamomile comes with two shoulder/neck views - Wide Shoulder and Narrow Shoulder. The Wide Shoulder has a higher front and back neckline, and lots of coverage on your shoulders. The Narrow Shoulder has a lower front and back neckline to let the sunshine hit you, and slim straps that favor the outer edge of your shoulders to perfectly hide your bra straps.
Simple, step-by-step illustrated instructions walk you through how to sew the French seams, the bias tape around the neckline and armholes, and the double rolled hem, and the pockets, and skirt gathering for the dress version.
This is a graded pattern that comes with a print at home, a US 36” copy shop version, and an A0 copy shop version.
Fabric notes: Works best with lightweight to midweight woven fabrics that have a good amount of drape such as sandwashed rayon or linen, linen and rayon blends, and homespun cotton.
